Our very own Mama Africa used her voice to fight against apartheid and advocate for human rights.

Miriam Makeba sang in isiXhosa, Sotho, isiZulu and English, ensuring her message could be heard and understood by many.

After apartheid, she focused her efforts on empowering young women. Makebe’s understanding that these women were the future mothers of South Africans led her to provide a shelter for homeless girls to protect their well-being.  We would like to empower women with dignity packs during Women’s Month – please consider donating to our cause.
